I have a passion for helping students and deep familiarity with higher education policy. Professionally I am comfortable wearing many hats, and I am currently a policy analyst. I have been an analyst/adviser for the UC Davis Academic Senate Committee on Grade Changes since 2008, and was an Athletic Certification Officer from 2006 to 2012. I am an expert in student privacy law, and I co-wrote and narrated the “FERPA-Student Privacy, Confidentiality and Data Security” online course available through the UC Learning Center. I have extensive experience working directly with and advising students. I have experience writing student information data reports and drafting policy regarding the handling of this data.
Academically, I was awarded my Doctor of Education degree from Drexel University in June 2013. The title of my dissertation was “A Phenomenological Study of Parental Involvement and the Undergraduate College Student Experience.” I have performed extensive academic research on parental involvement, FERPA, emergency management, emerging adulthood, and student mental health issues.
